Driving down Otter Drive, I not only noticed the magnificent, towering pine trees, I experienced the pleasing pine scent that reminds me that I am in central Wisconsin. I remember smiling, taking a deep breath, and feeling relaxed and refreshed by my surroundings.
This was my first trip kayaking in the Waupaca Chain O’Lakes. My boyfriend and I put the kayaks in at the public boat landing and set off in Taylor Lake. Being a novice kayaker, it took a few minutes to grow accustomed, but feeling comfortable quickly, I began to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Eventually, our destination was Clearwater Harbor, a restaurant and bar on the lake. The docks were full and staff was busy serving people on their boats. The deck was crowded too as it was Tuesday evening and Mark Little was performing. We pulled out our sandwiches, opened our beverages and enjoyed dinner on the lake with music!
The sun was going down and our evening ending, but not before we got to enjoy the sunset all the way back to the boat landing.
