A Young Couple’s Weekend in Waupaca Sightseeing

Last summer, I took a trip to Waupaca with my girlfriend, Amber.  I grew up in Waupaca, but haven’t lived there since 2002.  Amber had been to Waupaca for Holiday celebrations.  This trip was different.  I wanted to show Amber all Waupaca has to offer.

We arrived Friday night and went out for dinner at T.W. Martin’s Irish Pub.  We like this place.  It is unique, the food is good and the people are always friendly.  After dinner, we went for a drink at Clearwater Harbor.  The band was playing and the deck and bar were busy.

Saturday morning, we decided to do some sightseeing.  We drove through the beautiful villages of Rural and King and then to Hartman Creek State Park.  Then, we went to downtown Waupaca and met my brother and sister-in-law and did some shopping.  The girls liked Panache and Amber loved the white chocolate fudge at Main Street Market

place.  Amber couldn’t believe all there was to do in what seemed like such a small town.

On Sunday, we finished up our trip by going on the Crystal River Canoe Trip and then to lunch at the Wheelhouse (followed by ice cream at Scoopers!)  We returned to Middleton equally satisfied with our weekend getaway to Waupaca and the fact that our relationship made it through the Crystal River Canoe Trip!
