1st Waupaca Walk For Wellness
A non-competitive 1-mile, 5K and 10K walking event to sustain the River Ridge Trail system.
The inaugural Waupaca Walk for Wellness is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th at Swan Park in Waupaca.
This non-competitive walking event will offer options of 1-mile, 5K and 10K routes. Same day registration starts at 7:30, with staggered start times and a final gathering as walkers finish the various distances. The Walk for Wellness is planned to highlight and support funding for maintenance and future development of the River Ridge Trail system.
Participants of all ages are encouraged to pre-register as individuals or “teams” of 4, with a mail-in registration available by e-mailing a request to waupacawalkforwellness@gmail.com, or checking the links for a brochure and registration form on the Waupaca Walk for Wellness Facebook page.
The Day of the Walk-
Registration check-in begins at 7:30
Walking route options Start times
1-Mile walk route 8, 9 and 10 AM
10K route (6.2 miles) 8:30 AM
5K route (3.1 miles) 9:30 AM
Water / refreshment stops will be available along the 5K and 10K routes, and at Swan Park
Participants are welcome to walk multiple routes, without additional fees. IE:1-mile & 5K, 2 or 3 1-miles
Strollers are welcome; FYI: trail surface is primarily wood chips.
Final gathering: All participants, along with family and friends that support Waupaca’s River Ridge Trail, are welcome to gather at the finish line at Swan Park at 10:30 for a final celebration as walking routes are completed. Sponsors, volunteers and participants will be recognized for their efforts, along with sharing some light refreshments.to celebrate the First Annual Waupaca Walk for Wellness.
