Bike on the Wau-King Trail from downtown Waupaca, south along Hwy. 22 to King. The trail is paved and is 3.9 miles long. Various bike routes are mapped in the area and vary by elevation and ability. Maps are available at Waupaca County Park & Recreation, (715) 258-6243 or the Chamber office. Bikes can be rented from Nature Treks at Hartman Creek State Park or they will deliver them to you. Ice Age Trail
As the colossal glacier retreated from Wisconsin, it left behind a variety of unique landscape features. The thousand-mile Ice Age Trail, one of eleven National Scenic Trails, highlights these features while providing access to some of the state's most beautiful natural areas. The Ice Age Trail is suitable for walking, hiking, backpacking and snowshoeing over a wide range of distances and landscapes.

Hartman Creek State Park
Hartman Creek State Park is located a few miles outside Waupaca and has both a family and group campground. The family campground has 79 reservable sites and 22 sites are first-come, first-served. It has two shower and flush toilet buildings. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. Hartman Creek State Park has 10 miles of hiking trails; a playground; a 7.5 mile equestrian trail; a 300-foot long sand beach and swimming area; fishing; both on and off-road biking trails. River Ridge Trail
The River Ridge Trail is part of a plan to preserve urban natural areas or “green space” in a non-motorized trail system that winds throughout the Waupaca area. There are 11 miles of trails within the city limits and a street route of 12 miles is also designated with River Ridge trail signs to connect these off road sections.
